Projectmeeting in Poland

Six students (Nina, Julie, Fabian, Jan, Robin and Pascal) and two teachers from Wernigerode spent some really snowy days in Lublin from 29 November to 3 December 2010. On their long trip home they wrote about these days.

Monday (Our Trip to Lublin)

The trip in the train was good and very very long .

It took 14 hours . We were welcomed by the parents and kids in Lublin .
Then we went to the kids’ home . It was very late and we were tired.

Tuesday

On Tuesday we went in the Lublin castle and the Lublin Old Town .

We were in the swimming-pool. The swimming-pool is in the school.
There Jan got a terrible nose-bleeding and he had to go to hospital. An ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital with a sirene and blue light. Very exciting on slippery streets ...
But fortunately it wasn’t serious and he could go home.

On Wednesday we were in the partner school. We hat three lessons: English, German and PE . In the PE lesson we learned a dance. Kalle said :,, This was our first dance lesson . During the lessons we notized that all pupils are very very silent . Bu the break is only 5 minutes long. This is absolutely short .

Thursday

We wanted to travel to Sandomierz and had the idea of visiting a Christmas ornaments’ factory. We wanted!!!
But in Lublin there was a heavy snowfall. The roads were full of snow – no way to go to another town.
So instead of this we visited a nearby vocational school, where the teenagers learn to cook and to serve in a restaurant. We had a look at the school. After the tour we ate a soup. On the way to school we had snowball fight. After the lunch we played Polish two-field-ball and unihockey and football in the gym. It was
a lot of fun. The afternoon we spent with our Polish friends.

Friday (our trip to home)

On Friday we met at the trainstation at half past six. Then got on the train and we listened to music, talked with friends and had a lot of fun and we were happy to go home but we missed the new friends. In the train there was a problem with the electricity: no light and no heating during the last kilometres.

We hope we can meet our Polish friends soon.
